In 2017, astronomers capture the first images of Prote. Less than fifteen light years away, it is an unspoiled paradise, ideal for colonization.
In 2113, astronaut Tom Gray departs on the first manned mission to Prote, financed by mega-corporation Neuroscape and masterminded by its CEO, Robert Boyer.
Tom's sole companion on the fifteen year mission is Robert, the ship's computer. Robert is a digitally downloaded and enhanced duplicate of Robert Boyer's brain, all but human.
Every five days, Tom and Robert receive a transmission from Earth. It is their only tie to home.
In 2126, the transmissions stop, shattering Tom and Robert's fragile equilibrium and sending them spiraling into paranoia, madness... and destruction.
