Resonance

A physicist obsessed with finding TRUTH pushes himself to the edge of madness, and his wife makes a final attempt to bring him back.

Each year, the Los Angeles Short Filmmaking Competition bestows its grant on one short screenplay. The 2008 winner was the screenplay for 'Resonance'.

Produced by Amanda Sweikow, directed by Robert Beaucage (who also wrote the screenplay), and starring John Laughlin (Crimes of Passion, The Rock) and Leilani Sarelle (Basic Instinct), the film wrapped principal photography on the 29th of April and is now in its intensive postproduction phase.

As part of the LASFC arrangement, 'Resonance' will begin its festival run at Hollywood's prestigious VisionFest, an annual gala presented to overflowing audiences each August at the Director's Guild of America Theatre Complex.

DONATION INFORMATION

Donations benefiting 'Resonance' will be processed through Filmmakers Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; Filmmakers Alliance will provide each donor with a receipt for tax deduction purposes.

The grant bestowed by the LASFC includes 35mm Kodak film and developing, a 35mm camera package from Panavision, a lighting package from Kino Flo, production insurance and other production services, digital postproduction services, and core members of the production crew. This totals $25,000 of the filmmakers' $40,000 budget.

The remaining $15,000 the filmmakers need in order to meet their budget will be used for:

telecine and HDCAM SR exhibition prints;

production design and locations;

sound design;

and crew members not covered by the grant.

DONOR LEVELS & PERKS

$100	Contributor	Donors' names will be listed as 'Contributors' in the end credits of the film.
$500	Patron	Donors' names will be listed as 'Patrons' in the end credits of the film. Additionally, they will receive a DVD copy of the final product, a Certificate of Appreciation, and a mention (and links, if desired) on the film's forthcoming website.
$1,000	Associate Producer	Donors' names will be listed as 'Associate Producers' in the main titles of the film. Additionally, they will receive all the perks received by Patrons, plus invitations to the wrap party.
$5,000	Producer	Donors' names will be listed as 'Producers' in the main titles of the film. Additionally, they will receive all the perks received by Associate Producers, plus two free tickets to the film's premiere at VisionFest.
$10,000	Executive Producer	Donor's name will be listed as 'Executive Producer' in the main titles of the film. Additionally, he or she will receive all the perks received by Producers, plus the director's immortal soul.
